My eSIM is installed but there's no internet

Last reviewed 13 Oct 2026Checked against Apple Support and Pixel Phone Help

Work through these checks once each, in order.

Don't delete the eSIM, reset network settings or reset your phone. Some eSIMs can be installed only once. If deleted, it may not be possible to install it again.

1. Check the package and the place

  • Are you in a country the package covers? The list is on your order page. A package doesn't work outside its countries.
  • Is the package still valid and does it have data left? Your order page shows its status. Usage figures can be a few hours behind.

2. Check your phone's settings

  1. The DataRoamr eSIM is turned on.
  2. The DataRoamr eSIM is chosen for mobile data.
  3. Data roaming is on for the DataRoamr eSIM.
  4. Your usual line is not being used for data. Your usual carrier may charge for using it abroad.
  5. Turn airplane mode on for a few seconds, then off. If nothing changes, restart your phone.

Step-by-step menus for iPhone, Pixel and Samsung: connect when you arrive.

3. Choose a network (only if your order lists networks)

If your order page lists networks for this package, turn off automatic network selection for the DataRoamr eSIM and choose one of those networks. If no networks are listed, skip this step.

Still no data? Contact us

Stop here and contact us. Please include:

  • your order reference (it starts with DR-)
  • your phone's make, model and software version
  • the country and area you're in, and when the problem started
  • what the phone shows (signal bars, network name or the exact message)
  • which of the checks above you tried

Don't send your activation code, SM-DP+ address, QR code or card details. A screenshot is fine if the activation code is hidden.

Contact us straight away if

  • your phone shows No SIM or Invalid SIM, or the DataRoamr line has disappeared
  • you've already deleted the eSIM
  • your usual carrier has charged you for roaming. Contact your carrier about those charges too.
