If your estimate is close to a package size, think about the next size up. When the data runs out, you'd need to buy a new package and install a new eSIM. This is an estimate. It isn't a promise about how much data you'll use.

Questions about Africa eSIMs

Which countries does Africa cover?

21 countries, listed below. Countries that aren't on the list aren't covered.

What happens when I cross a border?

You keep the same eSIM, data and validity in every country on the list. After you cross a border, your phone needs to join a network in the new country. If you have no data, turn airplane mode on and off, or restart your phone. Make sure the next country is on the package's list.

Do I need to turn on data roaming?

Yes, for this eSIM only. On iPhone: Settings → Cellular → this eSIM's line → Cellular Data Options → Data Roaming. On Android, menu names vary; on Pixel: Settings → Network & internet → SIMs → this eSIM → Roaming. Keep data roaming off for your usual line to avoid charges from your carrier.

Is the data split between countries?

No. Your package has one data allowance and one validity period. You can use it in any country on the list, in any order.

When does my Africa eSIM start counting days?

Your validity days start when the eSIM first connects to a network in a covered destination. You can install it on Wi-Fi before you leave. If you're already in a country this package covers when you install, it may connect and start counting straight away, so install shortly before your trip.
