What is a DataRoamr eSIM?
An eSIM is a SIM built into your phone. You add it in your phone's settings by entering details or scanning a QR code. There's no plastic SIM to post or swap.
What you get
- Mobile data only. DataRoamr packages give you data. They don't include a phone number, calls or SMS. Apps that call or message over the internet use your data like any other app.
- A set amount of data, a validity period and a destination. Each package page shows them, plus when validity starts and how long you have to install the eSIM.
- Hotspot: shown on each package page. Where it says "Not confirmed by supplier", we can't promise that sharing your connection will work.
Your usual SIM can stay
You can keep your usual line on for calls and texts. Your usual carrier may charge for using that line abroad, so check its roaming settings and prices before you travel.
Before you buy
- Check your phone. It must support eSIM and not be locked to a carrier. DataRoamr can't check this for you. See check your phone and phones that support eSIM.
- Check the destination. The package works only in the countries listed on its page.
- Check when validity starts. Some packages start when you install, others when the eSIM first connects in your destination. See when to install.
